Stickley Accolades Through the Years

Stickley Accolades Through the Years

Darcy Smith

On Saturday, July 27, 2024, our own CEO Aminy I. Audi was honored by Furniture Today, along with a handful of furniture peers, at a first-ever celebration called Trailblazers and Titans, an event recognizing “those who have built an enduring legacy within the industry.” News of this reminded us of the long list of awards and honors that L. & J.G. Stickley, its leaders, and its products have accumulated in the 50 years since the Audi family took the helm—honors of which we are all justifiably proud. Here is just a sampling of the recognition Stickley has received in recent decades.

Honoring the company

2021 OHA Medal from Onondaga Historical Association

Stickley receives the Medal of the Onondaga Historical Association, its highest honor, for contributions made to the cause of preserving and interpreting our heritage.

2010 Onondaga Historical Association Award

Presented to the Management and Employees of L. & J.G. Stickley, this award is in recognition of Stickley’s long, outstanding heritage of fine furniture making and for its significant contributions to the Arts and Crafts legacy of Central New York.

1995 Business of the Year

Stickley is chosen as Business of the Year by the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce for its “entrepreneurial spirit, staying power, good business practices, and workplace innovation.”

Recognizing our leaders

2008 & 2015 American Home Furnishing Hall of Fame

Upon Mrs. Audi’s induction into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame in 2015, Stickley becomes the first company to have three leaders enshrined there! In 2008, Alfred J. Audi also received the honor shortly after his passing, and Gustav Stickley was the first, inducted posthumously in 1994.

2000 Dealer Recognition Plate

This lovely plate is presented to Alfred and Aminy Audi by their nationwide family of independent furniture dealers for their “commitment to craftsmanship and steadfast stewardship of the ideals exemplified by Gustav and Leopold Stickley.” It’s a fitting echo of the honor that Leopold received in 1956 when he was named “Revered Dean of Cabinetmakers” by America’s leading magazine editors.

1997 Entrepreneur of the Year

In recognition for their entrepreneurship and business leadership, Alfred and Aminy Audi win the 1997 Upstate New York Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Founded by Ernst & Young, the annual contest is sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, USA Today, and NASDAQ.

THIS MONTH IN STICKLEY HISTORY

In Memoriam: Alfred J. Audi
Just a short walk from our Manlius factory, a young red oak grows in remembrance of our late CEO Alfred Audi, who passed away on September 29, 2007. It’s a daily reminder of the man who helped rebuild L. & J.G. Stickley and whose vision informs the daily workings of our business to this day.
